Born and raised in Queens, he lived in Dumont before moving to Bergenfield seven years ago. He was a huge Beetles fan who had a passion for guitars and was known to all who knew him to be a collector of many things. He was employed by Con Edison for more than 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (nee Lauerman) Ankro; step-son, Nicholas Lauerman and his wife Miki; siblings, Eugene Ankro and Liisa Ryan; and grandchildren, Saya and Sara.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford.
